International Cooperation

By sending its member SMECs abroad, J-SMECA has contributed to the promotion of SMEs in foreign countries in compliance with the Government initiative such as METI’s.
At the time of financial crisis in 1997 in South East Asian Countries, Japanese Government extended number of relief measures to those countries. Included among them was the SME promotion in Thailand from 1999 to 2004, whose main subject was the training of Thai SME consultants.
A total of 150 Japanese SMECs were sent to Thailand to lead 400 Thai consultants to transfer the skill of SME diagnosis and help make Thai SMEs more productive and competitive.
